MASKS
Medical face masks are classified based on filtration efficiency and respiratory resistance according to EN 14683, the technical standard that specifies their requirements:
TYPE I
Bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) > 95%. Can be worn by patients to reduce the risk of infection spread during epidemics or pandemics.
TYPE II
Bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) > 98%. Intended for healthcare professionals.
TYPE IIR
Bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) > 95%. Can be worn by patients to reduce the risk of infection spread during epidemics or pandemics.
HOW TO PROCEED?
Medical face masks must comply with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2017/745. Our laboratories conduct tests in accordance with the following standards:
