FCMs refers to materials and objects intended for food contact.
FCMs must be manufactured in accordance with best manufacturing practices of food contact materials and objects and must not transfer components to food in amounts that:
a) pose a risk to human health;
b) cause an unacceptable modification of the composition of food products;
c) lead to a deterioration of their organoleptic characteristics.
